  • Great Ride

Wonderful automobile, the best car MB makes. I can't say enough good things about it. Beautiful design, extremely comfortable, handles way better than any of the SUVS, better MPG and no problems at all!
  • Luxury ride with quirky noises

Have owned this car for almost a year and love the way it drives, looks, and feels on the road. It does have a tendency to jump a little when hitting a bump in a curve, which is a little strange, I think? Its reliability or quality of materials and workmanship has been disappointing, though. I have had the car in four times now for first, the complete failure of the starter button (car shut down completely and had to be towed), and then three times for trying to silence persistent rattling in both front doors, specifically associated with the seat adjustment switches and the seat heating buttons. This is a poor design issue of the switches in my opinion. At times it felt like listening to baby rattles going off. Not something I expect in a +$60K car.
  • S550 TO E53

I'm a long time S-550 owner. (my last 4 cars) My wife wanted something different. The E53 has a really beautiful interior. Fit and finish is excellent. The engine sound is a little weird to me. By that I mean it sounds more like a 6 cylinder than it should. Road noise is fairly high. Ride is a little stiff in comfort mode. The "easy entry" functions poorly compared to the S550. I'm 6'2" and the E53 seat does not go back far enough with "easy entry". The dealer said Mercedes limited that to protect the back seat passenger. I very seldom have back seat passengers so the current design is a problem for me. The perfect car for me would be the S-Coupe. The residual and money factor on that car is horrible. Too bad.
